RF Global Solutions are delighted to have received the Living Wage accreditation this morning.

Alastair Stuart Managing Director said “This is an extremely proud moment for RF Global Solutions. We have worked closely with Living Wage Scotland to become an accredited employer and we’re 100% committed to paying the real Living Wage to every single member of our team. We’ve started to roll out the news to the group and so far the feedback has been extremely encouraging.”

The real Living Wage for the real cost of living

Living Wage Scotland aims to increase the number of employees in Scotland who receive the real Living Wage.

Living Wage accreditation formally recognises and celebrates employers who choose to go further than the government minimum.

The real Living Wage is an independently calculated rate based on the cost of living and is paid voluntarily by employers. The rate is currently £10.90 and is calculated annually by The Resolution Foundation on an analysis of the wage that employees need to earn in order to afford the basket of goods required for a decent standard of living. This basket of goods includes housing, childcare, transport and heating costs.

The Living Hours programme builds upon the existing Living Wage accreditation. Employers who join the scheme commit to providing:

  • at least 4 weeks’ notice for every shift, with guaranteed payment if shifts are cancelled within this notice period.
  • a guaranteed minimum of 16 working hours every week (unless the worker requests otherwise)
  • a contract that accurately reflects hours worked

Living Wage Scotland work alongside Living Hours accredited employers, to learn more about their journey and the impact this accreditation has had on their business and workers. With funding from the Scottish Government, we look forward to engaging with more employers in Scotland to explore Living Hours alongside the real Living Wage to ensure that more workers achieve financial stability at a time when they need it most.
